SDCC: Marvel Announces Another Movie Date Release

With recent news that five more dates were announced by Marvel Studios, Marvel dropped another little surprise, stating that there will be another movie showing up May 8th, 2018. At this point, that means that 2017 and 2018 will have at least 3 Marvel Movies …from Marvel Studios no less. This is not counting any movies that are produced from other studios, such as Sony with Amazing Spiderman, Venom and Sinister Six or Fox with their upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse film. These are all strictly Marvel Studios movies.

 Avengers cast

And with the ever expansion of the Marvel Universe continuing outward in the movie realm, let’s get a break down of just the Marvel Studios movies to come:

Guardians of the Galaxy – August 1, 2014.

Avengers: Age of Ultron – May 2, 2015.

Ant-Man – July 17, 2015

Captain America (3) – May 6, 2016

Doctor Strange – July 8, 2016 (tentatively; subject to change – revealed by director Scott Derrickson)

Movie Dates but no titles announced for them yet:

May 5, 2017, July 28, 2017, November 3, 2017, May 4, 2018, July 6, 2018, November 2, 2018 and May 3, 2019.

Again, these are just the movies from Marvel Studios. Now, there are some obvious possibilities for what some of those slots are for: Thor getting a third movie, Guardians of the Galaxy’s possible sequel, the third Avengers movie which will likely have them deal directly with Thanos, talks for a 4th Iron Man movie and at least one Hulk movie starring Mark Ruffalo. Also, there had been multiple mentions of possibly doing movies for Black Panther and current Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers … but we will see as time moves forward. All I know is that it will be an exciting time to go to the movies.
