Review by Jeremias de Leon
It’s time to head for the beach in this issue of Miraculous Adventures. While Marinette gets to the beach for Adrien’s photo shoot, it all goes south very quickly. Not only are there shenanigans by the two girls who seem to have it out for Marinette but an akuma seems to have showed up as well.
The story is easy to follow and is bookended by pulling back the curtain on the larger world around Ladybug and Cat Noir.
The art is very cute and is packed with charm. Facial expressions on the characters display so much even without a speech bubble you can tell what’s going on their mind. The colors are simple yet, vibrant.
Here’s a little confession. I actually never watched the original tv show. Yet, I was drawn in by the art in the first issue and still pleasantly surprised by the quality in the second issue. If this series can put a smile on my face, it can put a smile on anybody’s. Miraculous Adventures earns a 9 out of 10.
