Since we last met Molli and her crew it seems like things weren’t going so well. Checking out this brand new issue we can see it’s just gotten worse. Sir Penny and Drazic seem to have nefarious plans for the entire country and the cyborg Asher is the key to it all.
On top of their enemies the crew are going through their own personal problems. BubbleGun so far has actually done a decent job of developing characters. It’s really nice to see how they changed since the first volume came out about 2 or 3 years ago. The villains seem a bit one dimensional however.
The art has gotten more detailed it seems. The characters seem like they’re all really standing and moving. It does this while still having a bit of a cartoony exaggeration that isn’t too crazy but keeps the characters from looking “too” real or rather awkward. A nice balance is struck in this issue.
This was a lot of fun to read. As has been previous issues. The creative team behind this comic seem to developing and maturing their talents as much as Molli’s character herself has grown. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to read a fun sci-fi story. BubbleGun # 3 (vol 2) gets an 8.5 out of 10
