There will be 17 bi-weekly titles, while the rest of the titles will be monthly. DiDio goes on saying that Rebirth was going back to what was important. Jim Lee and Geoff Johns took the lead after that as they introduced multiple writers and artists that will be working on the Rebirth titles, splitting them up by family of books.  Here’s the rundown of all the titles.

It worked for Green Lantern extremely well with Green Lantern: Rebirth. It worked for The Flash when Barry Allen returned with The Flash: Rebirth. This could be just what the company needs to push things along and get out of the slump that the later part of the year has seemingly showed them.

It also helps that all books on the line will be $2.99 across the board. Between some new blood like Sam Humphries and returning creators like Greg Rucka on board, Rebirth looks poised to do things right.

Johns also pointed out that plans for Shazam, Legion of Super-Heroes and Justice Society of America are in the works, but are waiting for later to unleash them. No mention of Gotham Academy: Second Semester or Earth 2 except that they will continue with their original numbering.  We could very well see more books into the fall, allowing those titles to spring in. Also … there are 5 big mysteries creative wise:

1. The upcoming DC Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo project.

That has been rumored and Capullo has mentioned a couple times that he’d be drawing more characters.

2. Gail Simone. Gail’s been a mainstay at DC for years now. Secret Six might very well be ending … or restarting again. Yet, a funny thing happened about a month or so ago. On twitter, Gail had mentioned two title and which should she write. Legion of Super Heroes was one of them. I know cause I personally tweeted at her that it would be amazing that she did a run on Legion.  Hmmmm ….

3.  Jason Fabok is nowhere to be found. The artist has gotten critical acclaim for his work on the Justice League with Darkseid War …. but there is no DC projects featuring him.

4. No side of any Wildstorm characters that they integrated into the New 52. Does this mean they will be separated again because of Rebirth or will they just come later? And this is after while Midnighter’s sales have not been great, the book has gained critical acclaim. So, that is a mystery as well.

5. Johns confirmed he was working with Abnett on “Rise of the Seven Seas” and the Ivan Reis would also be working it. Yet … Johns is usually good with handling a couple books. Even with his hectic schedule. And this story has been planned for some time … Johns has to have something else up his sleeve.

With more books to still be announced later and Justice League of America’s roster or creative team still being secret, there is a lot of potential for what is to come. And the overall reaction to all these announcements have been positive. There really hasn’t been any negative feedback that’s been overly vocal by fans. Time will tell if Rebirth will end up being just what the company needed. We will find out when Rebirth kicks off with the 80 page DC Universe: Rebirth 1 shot to be released at the end of May … for $2.99.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
